PRAYER
Lord God, we thank you for the spiritual wealth and abundance that you have made available to us when we align our life with your will, characterized by the fruits of the Spirit, wisdom, knowledge, and the eternal inheritance promised to believers.
Please forgive us when we treat material wealth as our ‘god’ rather than a good gift from you. We pray for a generous spirit and for an understanding that where our treasure is, there will be our heart also.
Lord God, we pray that you will be our magnet drawing us home by the power of the Holy Spirit, because unlike material wealth, spiritual riches are imperishable and rooted in a trusting child-like relationship with Jesus Christ.
AMEN

Questions to Consider

The account of ‘The Rich Young Man/Ruler’ is recorded in all three synoptic gospels (Mat. 19:16-22, Mark 10:17-22, Luke 18:18-23). There are minor differences. Does this make them less reliable? Give reasons for your answer.
Read Mark 10:17-22. It begins, ‘As Jesus started on his way, a man ran up to him.’ What could be the reasons for his urgency to meet with Jesus?
Do you have a sense of urgency to encounter Jesus? Daily?
The young man asks Jesus, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?” From his question, what do you conclude about his attitude towards gaining salvation/eternal life?
Jesus lists 6 of the 10 commandments. What do they have in common?
‘One thing you lack’ says Jesus. What is that ‘one thing’, and why is it so important?
When Jesus says, ‘Go, sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven’, should his followers do likewise? Explain your response.
What does Jesus mean by ‘Treasurer in Heaven’?
When the young man walked away from his encounter with Jesus, would you describe him like the gospel writers as a rich man or was he, in fact, a poor man? How would you describe yourself; are you ‘rich’ or are you ‘poor’?

What should I expect on a Sunday Morning?

Sometimes going to a church for the first time can be a little daunting. I promise we won't bite! To help ease any uncertainties below are the answers to some common questions people have before attending a Sunday morning.

What do I have to wear?

We are a 'come as you are' sort of people and have no formal dress-code for our Sunday services.
We can assure you that we don't have bouncers on the door vetting your attire!
If you are still not sure, feel free to check out our services on YouTube to have an idea.

What time do I need to be there?
At the moment we have one Sunday morning service which starts at 10.00am.

On the 4th Sunday of the month we run our All-sorts service which starts at 10:00am.

Services

We would recommend you turn up 10 minutes before the service starts so you have a chance to say hi!
If you have children that need signing in to the children and youth work, they need to be signed in from 9:50am.

Parking

There is plenty of parking both out the front and at the back of the building. Just follow the signs!

How safe is my child in your care?

We run separate children and youth work during our 10:00am service, which is run by a group of volunteers who have all been DBS checked.

Children ages 11 and under must be signed in and out by their parent/carer. The youth can sign themselves in and out.
