Sunday 9th October

"What a great first day, the team arrived early this morning feeling tired but ready to get started. Our first visit was to the local supermarket to peruse all the items and produce available and also pick up a few snacks. We then got picked up by our lovely friend and minibus driver Anderson who took us to a local restaurant for lunch. Once back at the hotel we started sorting through the enormous quantities of aid the volunteers had generously bought with them which resulted in over 15 large sacks of a variety of aid to distribute to our afternoon projects. There was everything from baby clothes and toys to adult clothes and toiletries, craft and school materials, toothbrushes and toothpaste and even recorders for a music class we visit. A truly incredible effort by them all which will bless so many people hugely less fortunate than ourselves. Thank you team 1!!
We have also prepared our devotions room with the help of the hotel staff who removed the beds from one of the rooms for us to use as a meeting room each day. The team are now taking a well earned rest after their long journey then after supper we will all be having an early night ready for our first day on the building site tomorrow. Feeling excited and expectant of all God will do in us and through us."
