Members of our Elders Team
Philippa has been a part of EBC since 2009. She enjoys being part of the worship band and creative arts team within the church and can often be found singing or being dramatic. She was a teacher in a local primary school before joining the staff team.
She is the proud mother of three children - Tom, James and Georgia.
Simon has been a part of EBC for many years. A Sports Science graduate and lifelong fitness enthusiast, Simon managed health clubs for about 20 years. He still likes to dabble in weight training and cycling, alongside other hobbies which include playing the guitar and fish keeping. Joining our staff team in 2010, Simon initially led our Seniors Ministry before becoming Ministry Director in 2015, continuing to lead our Seniors work whilst also providing line-management to our Youth and Children's Ministries, Refresh Cafe and EBC Storehouse. In 2017, Simon was asked to become Team Leader of EBC and he is currently in the process of formation as a Baptist Minister, studying part-time at Regent’s Park College, Oxford. Simon is married to Claire and they have two children - Samson and Harry.
Rob has also been at EBC for many years. He took early retirement a few years ago having been a Senior Manager with ICI. As well as being on our Leadership Team, Rob is also our Church Treasurer and a part of our Elders Team. He is on our preaching team and is often seen conducting interviews at our Songs of Praise service. Rob has two grown up children and three grandchildren.
Tosin has been part of EBC since 2011 and was elected to the leadership team in 2016. He enjoys serving on the sound desk and can be seen regularly clearing up chairs with the clear-up team. He is a telecoms professional and an avid sports fan especially football, tennis and F1. He is married to Shade and both are blessed with two children - Tami and Timi.
Peter has been at EBC since he was a child. He and his wife Janet have served in the church in all sorts of different ways over the years. Now retired, he worked for 40 years at the Transport Research Laboratory in Crowthorne, becoming a world expert on road surfaces. He is one of our Elders; preaches; regularly plays piano and guitar in the band on Sunday mornings and at Songs of Praise; and is also part of the team leading the Thursday Service. He loves anything to do with railways. He is married to Janet, has 3 grown-up children and 7 grand-children.
