Acts of Random Kindness
Our new series is based on the book of James in the New Testament, a letter to the early Christian church which concentrates on wisdom and humility, faith and deeds, and controlling the tongue.
The series explores three types of kindness : a kind attitude, kind deeds and kind words - in the context of wisdom and humility. We need to address the consequences when we fail to live out our faith - when we are unkind in attitude, when we do no good deeds and when we speak ill.
Sunday 1st July : Attitude or Platitude ?
True wisdom shows in a good life and has fruits that could be summarised as a humble kindness of attitude. Good works flow from kind attitudes, not kind platitudes.
Sunday 8th July : Community Fun Day
Sunday 15th July : Tongues of Fire
The Holy Spirit can help us to control our tongues, which left to our human nature can be like a spark that causes destructive fire in our lives and in the church. Conversely, the Spirit can inspire words that change lives – even the world – for the better.
Sunday 22nd July : Pure and Applied (Kindness in our deeds)
God offers pure wisdom. Applied wisdom is up to you!
The series takes place at our Sunday morning services at 10.15 a.m. in our church building on South Hill Road, Bracknell. Our services include songs, prayer and video clips as well as a talk.
Remix for 2-11 year olds and Unity for young people in school years 7-11 takes place at the same time as the service during the first three Sundays in the month. On the 22nd July we have a "Big Story" All Age service.
Each week we have tea, coffee, cold drinks and biscuits after the service.
