Church Away Weekend at Wellington 2011

From Friday 29th April to Monday 2nd May we held our first Church Weekend Away at Wellington Country Park. We hired a rally field for the weekend and added in three marquees, toilets, showers and a generator. Around 80 people camped in the field and another 40 travelled in each day. We had a hog roast together on Saturday evening and a barbeque on Sunday evening.

David and Anne Brown from St Barnabas Church, North Finchley came and ran various teaching sessions for us and Phil and his team from Destiny Kids did some great activities with the children and Stephen and Jax from Eternity Youth Church in Warfield came and worked with our young people.

We had a fantastic weekend. The weather was great, we loved being together, we enjoyed all that there is to do at Wellington Country Park, the teaching and prayer ministry from David and Anne Brown (and Chris and Jo) were excellent and challenged and inspired us to expect more of the power of God in our lives. We saw people healed and encouraged by the power of God. There were games of football and a concert by some of our youngest children who were fantastic and brought a tear to the eye and a fantastic cheer. We also laughed and laughed - what a brilliant time!
