About Us..!
In 2005, Philip Darby & Amanda Sculley made a youth club called Club Unity for those aged between 12 & 16.
In 2006, Philip Darby, Danny Perchard and some young people made up a Youth Band for those between 12 & 16. We also found some tutors to tutor the young people. We found Ruth Edgson, Selwyn Anderson and some others.
Danny Perchard now oversees the Youth Band along with Ruth Edgson. Both Ruth & Selwyn have stayed with Youth Band since Day 1 along with Danny.
In February 2008, Philip Darby & Danny Perchard made a youth club called Ignite for those aged between 17 and 19 for those abled bodied but it’s up to 21 for those disabled bodies. At this point we also made a group called Ignite on Monday's. This is for those in this age group to meet up to have a chat including Tea & Coffee and also include a session that involves God. Worship, Prayer, etc...
In September 2010, Easthampstead Baptist Church employed a Student Youth Worker (Amy O’Melia from Oasis College in London) who will be with us for 3 years running different areas of Unity & Ignite.
In November 2010, Philip Darby stepped down and left Unity & Ignite. After this loss to the Youth Group, Amy has been running Unity & Ignite along with Chris Porter (Senior Minister of EBC), Danny Perchard, Amanda Sculley and Jacque Childs.
In the September Summer Holidays 2012, Danny Perchard had been working hard on the Unity's New Logo. We had a vote from the final 5 logos. Club Unity voted during September and Easthampstead Baptist Church have had their say during a Sunday Morning. After looking at the votes we have decided on our logo.
TODAY we have a GREAT team of Voluntary Youth Workers that work along with Amy to make all our Youth Session a GREAT SUCCESS..!
