Members of our staff

Chris Porter is our Senior Minister

Chris came to EBC in September 1998 as our Student Minister. He trained at Spurgeon's College in London from September 1998 to June 2001. He then became our Assistant Minister. In February 2008 he was called by the church to become our Senior Minister. Chris also leads our 'Cinema and Curry Cluster'. Before coming to EBC, Chris was a Management Consultant and travelled all over the world. He and his wife lived in the USA for a year as part of his career. Chris is married to Ruth and has two children - Emily and Jessica.

Steph Littlejohn is our Assistant Minister

Steph has been a part of EBC for more years than she cares to remember and started working for the church as a Pastoral Assistant. Steph is one of our Elders and has just taken on responsibility for overseeing small groups and pastoral care at EBC. At home, Steph has a passion for gardening. She is married to Don and has two grown up sons - Lewis and Liam. As well as working at EBC, Steph also works as a teacher for children under 5 who have special needs.

Eileen Charlton is our Church and Lettings Administrator

Eileen has also been a part of EBC for many years. Eileen is one of our Elders and also works as our Church Administrator overseeing all the administrative aspects of the life of EBC. She also runs our lettings and oversees our caretakers and all the work that goes into letting our building to external organisations. She runs her own catering business. Eileen is married to Neil and has three grown up children and lots of grandchildren!

Fay Philp is our Administration Assistant

Fay joined our staff team in 2007 as our Administration Assistant. She works full time for us and looks after all the different administrative functions in the church. She also works as Chris Porter's PA and looks after his diary (a full time job all by itself!) She has a teenager daughter - Alison.

Ruth Porter is our Children's Worker

Ruth has been at EBC since 1998. She is a trained nurse and still works 2 days a month at Heatherwood Hospital. She also works half time for EBC as our Children's Worker overseeing Remix - our activities children aged between 2 and 12. Ruth is married to Chris (our Senior Minister) and they have two children - Emily and Jessica.

Paul Kerslake is our Creative Arts Director

Paul has been at EBC since 2001 when he came to help us start a new congregation. Paul works for 4 days a week as a Music Royalty Accountant and his clients have included (amongst others) Katie Melua. Paul also works for a day and a half a week as our Creative Arts Director which means he helps us develop great artistic content for our services. He also leads worship. Paul is married to Hannah and they have three young children - Abi, Naomi and Joel.

Simon Lace is our Older Person's Worker

Simon has been a part of EBC for many years. He worked for several years in the Health and Fitness industry managing Health Centres. He works half time for us as our Older Persons Worker overseeing all of our work with older people. Simon is married to Claire and they have two young children - Samson and Harry.

Amy O'Melia is our Student Youth Worker

Amy joined us in September 2010 from Saltash in Cornwall. Prior to joining us she had been in Guatemala for six months working with a charity called Toybox who help re settle street children. She works half time for us and spends the other half of her time studying Youth Work and Ministry at Oasis College in London. Amy's studies will last for three years. She loves spending time with friends and speaking Spanish!
